Who we are
SpendHack is an independent project published by an individual. It includes this website (spendhack.app) and the SpendHack plugin for ChatGPT. In this policy, “SpendHack,” “we” and “us” mean the publisher of SpendHack. You can reach us at support@spendhack.app.
Data we collect
When you use the SpendHack plugin in ChatGPT
When you use the plugin, we receive:
- Your product request. The search query you typed, such as “air fryer with a coupon,” or an Amazon product ID (ASIN).
- Locale. Your language and region settings.
- Approximate location. A general area, such as a city or region.
- User agent. Basic technical information about the app or browser making the request.
- An anonymous session ID. A random identifier for the conversation.
We do not receive your name, email address or account details.
When you visit spendhack.app
- Cookie-free analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us aggregate page-view counts. We don’t use it to identify you.
- Hosting data. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard technical request data, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
When you email us
If you email support@spendhack.app, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, logins or passwords.
- No payment or card data.
- No Amazon account, cart or order data.
- No advertising cookies, and no cookies for analytics.
How we use data
We use the data above only to:
- Fetch live product data. We use your product request to look up current amazon.com product data and show it to you in ChatGPT.
- Keep the service working. We use plugin request logs to fix bugs and prevent abuse.
- Understand site traffic. We use aggregate, cookie-free page-view counts to see which pages are useful.
- Answer you. We use your support email to reply to you and fix the problem you raised.
We do not use your data to build profiles, to advertise to you, or to train AI models.
Who receives data
We share data only with these recipients, and only for the purposes above:
- A third-party product-data provider. It receives only the product query or ASIN, plus the marketplace (US).
- Cloudflare. Cloudflare hosts our website and plugin server and processes request data on our behalf.
- Amazon, when you follow a link. If you follow a product card or Amazon link, Amazon receives that visit, and Amazon’s own privacy notice applies.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose data if the law requires it, for example to answer a valid legal order.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.
How long we keep data
- Plugin request logs: 30 days, then deleted.
- Support emails: up to 12 months after your issue is resolved, then deleted, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Website analytics: aggregate counts only. They contain no personal data.
Your choices and rights
- Access or deletion. Email support@spendhack.app with “Privacy request” in the subject and tell us what you want. We’ll respond within 30 days. We may ask for details that help us find your requests, such as the approximate time and the query you used.
- Stop using the plugin. You can disconnect SpendHack in ChatGPT’s settings at any time.
- Correction. If you think we hold something inaccurate about you, tell us and we’ll fix or delete it.
- Skip our links. You can always go to amazon.com directly instead of following our links.
Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under local law. Email us and we will help.
Children
SpendHack is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Our site and plugin run over HTTPS.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also say so clearly on this page.
